Information on the Processing of Your Personal Data pursuant to Article 13 GDPR
1. General
The protection of your personal data is important to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of statutory provisions, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). Below we inform you about the processing of your data in connection with visiting our website as well as booking and carrying out the Good Design Call and the Good Design Focus Call (hereinafter jointly referred to as the "Good Design Calls").

3. Purposes of data processing and legal bases
3.1 Website visit – log files
When you visit the website, access data (log files) is processed automatically: IP address, date and time of access, referrer URL, operating system, browser type and version, internet service provider, volume of data transferred, and loading times. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stability, security and functionality). No conclusions can be drawn about your identity; the log files are deleted after a maximum of 6 months.
3.2 Contact (contact form, e-mail, phone)
When you contact us, we process your name, e-mail address, optionally your phone number, and the content of your message in order to handle your enquiry. Legal bases: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in customer communication). Storage for a maximum of 6 months.
3.3 Appointment booking (Calendly)
The Good Design Calls are booked via the service Calendly (Calendly LLC, USA). In this context we process your name, contact details, booking and appointment details, and – where transmitted – files provided by you (e.g. floor plans, photos). Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
3.4 Payment processing (Stripe)
Online payments are processed via Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Ireland, with processing by Stripe Inc., USA). In this context, billing data, payment method, transaction number and payment status are processed. Your complete payment data (e.g. card details) is processed directly by Stripe; we do not receive it in plain text. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). Stripe is PCI-DSS certified.
3.5 Website hosting and infrastructure (Wix)
Our website is hosted by Wix.com Ltd (Israel). Wix processes the data required to operate the website on our behalf. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, efficient website operation).
3.6 Conducting the calls (Zoom)
The Good Design Calls are conducted via Zoom (Zoom Video Communications Inc., USA). Name, e-mail address and technical session data are processed. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (carrying out the consultation appointment).
3.7 Communication via WhatsApp
If you contact us via WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) for customer communication, we process your phone number, your name (if provided) and the content of your messages in order to respond to your enquiry and handle the engagement. Please note that metadata is processed by the operator. Legal bases: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual/contractual communication) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in low-threshold communication).
3.8 Customer administration and customer care (CRM)
For the administration of enquiries, bookings and customer relationships, the CRM system integrated in Wix (Wix.com Ltd) may be used. In this context, master data (name, contact details), enquiry and booking history, project documents, and communication records are stored. No further use of a separate CRM system currently takes place. Legal bases: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in proper customer administration).
In addition, we use the contact details of our existing customers to stay in touch with you as a customer and to occasionally send you direct messages about our own similar services as well as seasonal greetings (e.g. Christmas wishes). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining the customer relationship (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or – in the case of e-mail advertising to existing customers – the statutory permission under § 174(4) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021). You can object to this use at any time without any formal requirements (e.g. by e-mail to office@gooddesign.at); we will then cease sending such messages.
3.9 Social media links
Our website contains only external links to Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. When you click on them, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply. The mere inclusion of the icons does not result in any automatic transfer of data.
3.10 Cookies
We do not use any cookies or tracking technologies that process your personal data or pass it on to third parties, unless you have expressly consented to this.
4. Automated decision-making / profiling
No automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR takes place.
5. Recipients of your data and transfers to third countries
Data is disclosed only to the extent necessary for processing, to the following processors or recipients:
– Wix.com Ltd (website hosting) – Israel
– Calendly LLC (appointment booking) – USA
– Stripe Payments Europe Ltd / Stripe Inc. (payment processing) – Ireland/USA
– Zoom Video Communications Inc. (video consultation) – USA
– WhatsApp Ireland Ltd / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (messenger communication) – Ireland/USA
– Wix.com Ltd (integrated CRM / customer administration, not currently actively used) – Israel
– Tax advisor (statutory obligation pursuant to the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code, BAO) – Austria
Transfers to third countries take place on the basis of an EU adequacy decision (Israel), standard contractual clauses, or – where certified – the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (USA). Any further disclosure only takes place where legally required (e.g. to authorities).
6. Storage periods
– Log files: max. 6 months
– Pure contact enquiries without a subsequent engagement: until the enquiry has been conclusively handled, then deleted, unless statutory retention obligations apply
– Booking and invoicing data: 7 years (tax-related retention obligations pursuant to the BAO)
– Customer and project data (name, contact details, project documents): for the duration of the customer relationship and beyond, for the purpose of maintaining customer contact and for direct messages to existing customers (e.g. seasonal greetings, information about our own similar services). Storage ends as soon as you object to the use for these purposes or request deletion, and no statutory retention obligations apply.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), data portability (Article 20), objection (Article 21), and to withdraw consent that has been given (Article 7). To exercise these rights, please contact us informally by e-mail at office@gooddesign.at.
8. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
9. Data security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. The connection to our website is encrypted using SSL (https).
10. Miscellaneous
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy in the event of changes to the legal situation or our services. The current version is always available on our website.
